The Library in the Forest provides access to standard tax forms in the Reference Department. Copies can be made from CD or an IRS book of printed forms.

Download forms and instructions for the present year back to 1990. You may also read lengthy publications online instead of printing them out. Files may be searched by keyword. Some of the more popular forms are available in a "fill-in" Adobe PDF version. This page also links to states' tax sites and electronic filing options.

IRS Taxpayer Assistance Centers are your source for personal tax help when you believe your tax issue cannot be handled online or by phone, and you want face-to-face assistance.

Standard forms available for copy in Reference Department. Generally state forms are available later in the year than federal (usually around the first of February). The Alabama Department of Revenue allows you to download forms, fill out forms online, and file your state income tax electronically through e-file.

AARP Tax Aide
AARP's Tax-Aide program provides free tax counseling. Use their free online locator to find the AARP Tax-Aide site nearest you which provides FREE tax assistance, preparation and filing for federal and state. Additional resources are available for estate tax planning, and retirement finances.

Low Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITCs)

If you are a low income taxpayer who cannot afford professional tax assistance during audits of your federal income tax return, you may qualify for help from Low Income Taxpayer Clinics. Low Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITCs) represent low income taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service in audit, appeals, and collection issues, for free or for a nominal charge.
