Lab Instructions

In-House Summer Reading Begins June 1st

Sign up for Summer Reading at the Vestavia Hills Library in the Forest beginning June 1st. Come into the library each week during regular library hours and solve the weekly puzzle. Pick up your weekly prize at the Children’s Desk. For extra credit and additional fun, you can complete the weekly Science Experiment.

The Science Lab will be open Monday-Friday from:

  • 10a-12p
  • 1:30p-3:30p and
  • 6p-7p
  • There will be limited experiments on the weekends

Either way, have your Lab Report stamped. Collect 8 or 9 stamps and you will graduate as a READOLOGIST! Special prizes will be awarded at the Finale on July 31st to everyone who becomes a Readologist!

Online Summer Reading

Add to your Summer Reading fun by signing up for the Online Program as well! You can keep a list of all the books you read during the summer and print the list to show your teacher when school starts back. You can also win extra prizes each week, in addition to the weekly prizes for coming into the library! Parents who want to keep track of the books their preschoolers enjoy during the summer can use the Online Program to keep track of favorite titles, and everyone can even write reviews of favorite books and post them for everyone to enjoy! Extra prizes, extra fun! Check this page for the Online Signup and follow the simple instructions. After that, you will have your own reading page that you can visit and add to all summer! You will also receive notifications if you win one of the great prizes, so check your page often! Do one or do both, but sign up for Fizz! Boom! Read! At the Vestavia Hills Library in the Forest and don’t let your summer fizzle!

Something for Everyone

This year we have special programming for our Tweens, entering grades 3-6. Pick up a program sheet highlighting these activities! Thursdays are still our performer days, so always make plans to enjoy the variety programming we have for everyone! We have programs for toddlers to tweens, so there is something for everyone!
